Extended Sexual Health Services to Young Men Who Have Sex With Men
It may sound strange (or suspicious) to you that there is a service program for such a specific group of the population. Well, it is not so strange. Year after year, community organizations like ours (ACQC) focus their efforts on various groups of the population based on data provided by government health agencies.
WhY-MSM?
Because in the last five years, Young Men who have Sex with Men (13 to 29 y/o) has topped the list of new Syphilis infections in New York State, increasing the chances of reinfection and coinfection with other STIs among this population. This has led public health institutions to inject more funds to monitor people who could be more exposed, more resources for the treatment of diagnosed STIs, case follow-up, and instances of sexual health education for the population.
At no-cost to you
That's right!
No billing, no purchase necessary, and no insurance required.
No ID if you want to keep it anonymous (for testing only).
If you request additional services, we will only require a First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth (DOB), Zip code, and phone number. For example, in case the result comes up reactive/positive and you want to start treatment. The rest of the info is up to you to respond. However, the more you share with us, the better sexual health counseling you get and the more options we can provide.
And if there is any service that you request that we cannot provide directly, we can refer you to a provider (in NYC) of your choice. We will navigate with you through the different options and make sure that the linkage is successfully done so you receive the services you need.
